Wholesome Holiday Oatmeal Cookies

  • 1 Quart Canning Jar/Quart-Size Decorative Jar with Tight Fitting Lid
  • 2/3 Cup Sucanat – Bulk Aisle 5
  • 1 1/4 Cup King Arthur’s Whole Wheat Pastry Flour – Aisle 2
  • 1/2 Cup Rolled Oats – Bulk Aisle 5
  • 1/2 Tsp. Baking Soda – Aisle 2
  • 1/2 Tsp. Frontier Organic Ground Cinnamon – Bulk Herbs & Spices
  • Pinch Ginger Nutmeg – Bulk Herbs & Spices
  • Pinch Ground Ginger – Bulk Herbs & Spices
  • 1/2 Cup Chocolate Chips + extra as needed – Aisle 2
  • 1/2 Cup Pecan Pieces + extra as needed – Bulk Aisle 5
  • 1/2 Cup Dried Cranberries – Packaged Bulk

Pack Sucanat in the bottom of the jar. Mix flour, oatmeal, baking soda and spices in a bowl and add to the jar. Layer chips, pecans, and cranberries on top of the flour mix. Add enough additional chips and pecans to completely fill the jar. Seal the jar with lid and attach a colorful bow and note with the following direction.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Empty the jar into a large mixing bowl and stir with a spoon. Add the following ingredients and kneed well until dry ingredients are all combined and moistened with plastic glove or baggie over your hand.

1 Stick of Organic Valley Butter, very soft – Aisle 1 Refrigeration

1/2 Tsp. Pure Vanilla Extract – Aisle 2 1 Egg, beaten – Aisle 1 Refrigeration

Shape into 1" balls, and place 1 1/2" apart on baking sheet sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Bake 10-11 min. et cool on rack.

Makes 3-3 1/2 dozen.
