Steamed Kale With Lemon Or Vinegar
- Fresh Kale Greens, washed carefully - Produce
- Lemon Wedges - Produce
- Apple Cider Vinegar - Aisle 3
If stems of kale are thick, remove them by folding the leaf together in one hand and pulling stem off with the other hand. If you like, cut or tear into bite-size pieces. Cook in a covered steaming basket over boiling water. To retain the bright color of the fresh greens, cook for 1 minute without lid, then cover and cook for 5-20 minutes depending upon the maturity of the greens. Season at the table by squeezing lemon juice or pouring apple cider vinegar over the greens.
