Beef Gulyas

  • 1 lb. Beef Stew Meat, cut into 1" cubes - Meat Dept.
  • 2 Tsp. Oil - Aisle 3
  • 3/4 Cup Water
  • 1 Tbsp. Simply Organic Paprika - Aisle 2
  • 1/4 Tsp. Frontier Organic Caraway Seed - Bulk Herbs & Spices
  • 1 lb. Potatoes - Produce
  • 1 Medium Onion, chopped - Produce
  • 12 fl oz Beer
  • 1/4 Cup Muir Glen Tomato Paste - Aisle 3
  • 1/4 Tsp. Pepper - Bulk Herbs & Spices
  • 8 oz. Sauerkraut, canned - Aisle 2
     
     
    In a Dutch oven, cook meat and onion in hot oil until meat is brown.  Add the beer, water, tomato paste, paprika, salt, caraway seed and pepper.  Cover and simmer for 1 to 1/2 hour.  Meanwhile, cut potatoes into 1" pieces.  Add potatoes, nudrained sauerkraut and parsley to skillet.  Cook covered for about 20 minutes or until veggies are tender.  Cook covered for 10 minutes more or until mixture is thickened and most of the liquid is evaporated. Yields 4 servings
